Welcome to the Federation Commons project
The goal of this project is to investigate and develop interoperability solutions for Shibboleth (1.3) and Sun's Identity Management suite (Access Manager and Federation Manager)
We are basically looking at 2 different scenarios:
- Use Federation Manager as a Shibboleth Identity Provider
- Use Federation Manager as a Shibboleth Service Provider
The first scenario has been partially implemented using Shibboleth 1.3 and Sun Federation Manager 7. The Authentication Request Profile works fine, including attributes push, but the Attribute Exchange profiles does not work because of incompatibilities between Shibboleth and Federation Manager in their implementation of the Attribute Query Protocol.
